how to learn from mistake?

Diana Laufenberg: How to learn from mistake?

The speaker has been teaching for a long time and has acquired a body of knowledge about kids and learning. so, she always wants to give the best learning method to her students. In doing so, she wish that everyone can see the potential of their student.

She tell a story about her grandmother that went to school to get information because there where the information lived. It was in the book and in teacher’s head. And it also happened to her father. He went to school and get the information which then he can stored only in his memory. That’s how the basic method of learning. So, when she was a kid, she had a lot of encyclopedias in her house. She don’t have to go library because all the information was there.

She see the advantages of internet as a tool for education when she started teaching. She got an opportunity to teach in a small yet lovely school there in Kansas. She teach her favorite subject that is American Government. In the first year, she knew that kids in 12-grade is not really enthusiastic on the subject. Second year, she had to change her tactic. She tried to give new experience to the student to learn by themselves. All thing she did was only post the problem and let the students solve by themselves. Then the outcome is incredibly awesome. The student produced flyers, called offices, and they were  meeting with secretaries and any other great things that she never thought before.  From Kansas she moved to Arizona. In this time, she challenges her student to identify someone in their world who had done the positive thing that give good impact to others. Then she asked the to make short movie of it. Along with her guidance of course. In short the class is also success. Then she move to Pennsylvania. The students there is great. They use technology in learning activity. Then the point that she really want to tell everybody is teaching is not ask your student always have the right answer and to tell kids to never be wrong. Let kids to fail is the part of learning process.

MINI RESEARCH PART 2

A.            Result and Discussion As Nguyen Ngoan stated in his article “ listening to VOA: advantages, problems and solutions” the students have to face these three problems. First of all, the students find it hard to understand proper names as they have never heard about it before. In other words, they have no background knowledge about what they are listening. The second problem is believed to rise from the unfamiliar, uninteresting and too long listening which makes the students feel strange, discouraged and bored of what they are hearing. The last one is assumed to be about the sound connections and intonation spoken by native speakers with different accents. The researcher has interview 7 students from unit 6 with some questions, these are the result of information and has analyzed by researcher. The way student study by their own and the strategies will help them to get over   and success in listening: from the...

TECHNOLOGY-INTERNET MEDIA WWW.MINDOMO.COM Santi Rahmadani (140203028) A.     Introduction The term instructional media has been defined in a variety of ways. In some cases, it refers to all aids that are used by the teacher and students. In other cases, it refers only to printed media. This definition is close to a broader definition such as that of Romiszowski (1981: 339) which includes not only electronic communications media, but also such devices as slides, photographs, teacher-made diagrams, charts, real objects and handouts that we use in the process of planned instruction. A key feature of effective teaching is the selection of instructional materials that meet the needs of students and fit the constraints of the teaching and learning environment. Instructional resources usually fall into one of two categories: student-centered and teacher-centered. In the student-centered model, instructional resources can be used for tutorials, problem solving, ...
